[Review] Zinus Dane Modern Studio Night Stand

First Things First

I am very pleased with the fast shipping. It arrived 2 days before the expected delivery date. Everything came in perfect condition. I initially worried about opening the box and then seeing the parts damaged. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. All of the parts, bolts, and tools are in the box too. Yes, it comes with all the tools you need to put the night stand together.

Assembly was a breeze. It took me under 30 minutes. This includes the time I spent taking everything out of the box. If you ask me, you don’t even need to take a look at the directions. If you’re not handy, you’ll find the directions extremely useful. They are very detailed and will help you get the job done.

One of the risks you have to take when you’re shopping online is getting a product that is far different from how it’s advertised. I have to say that I felt relieved after seeing the table all set up. It looks stylish, sturdy, and more expensive than it really is. I’m glad I got this nightstand for our home.

Function

The actual thing looks a bit larger than the table in the pictures. I tried to measure it and the size is the same as the advertised measurements. That is a good thing. I never thought I could put anything else on the surface when I already have my lampshade on it. There is still room for a glass of water and my phone. I love that it has an open shelf underneath. Having a basket on it can keep your things tidier. Anyway, the open storage gives you more space to work with.

My nightstand matches my bed frame perfectly. It is just the right height. My bed happens to have black steel tubes too so they look alike. You’d think I bought them together. I got a second table which now sits in my living room. It is also the perfect height for my couch. I have it right next to the couch, so it’s easy to reach for things.

The surface is easy to clean. I like that it’s not glass. Fingerprints don’t stand out like a sore thumb. If you have kids around, this kind of side table would work better.

Quality

At under $60, the table is sturdier than you think. It doesn’t wobble at all. The top and lower shelf are not made of real wood but they can handle weight well. I haven’t noticed any dent or sagging.

The steel base provides sufficient support to the table. I highly doubt it would bend in the long run. I have gotten the base wet on numerous occasions and I don’t see rust appearing.

It is by no means a furniture that you would pass on to your grandchildren. However, it has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. Obviously, you can’t put this side by side with a table made with real wood. Normally, those kinds of table cost a lot. I got this nightstand for a very reasonable price and I can’t be happier. – Amanda T
